Derby Time!

Spring is FINALLY here, which means Steeplechase is just around the corner! We've had tons of requests for Derby themed invitations so I whipped these up yesterday. Now I don't know much about horse races but sure do love any excuse to buy a new sundress and ridiculous hat!

Graduation Invitation

My cousin Monica is graduating high school in May. This makes me feel VERY old...actually, she's had me feeling ancient and uncool for years--which is why I was extremely flattered when she asked me to design her grad invite! See invitation and notecard below (now available at any Swoozie's location). Congrats, sweet cousin!!

tina adams + rebecca thompson

I recently worked on some marketing materials for a Nashville-based wardrobe consulting business. Tina and Rebecca came to Swoozie's with such a great "vision", they had color swatches and a basic idea of what they were looking for. And, can I mention--how fab are their jobs!?! Services offered include Closet Consultation, Personal Shopping and Closet Organization. They even create a look book for clients, complete with a report and photos from each ensemble. Below are images of the counter cards and book cover I designed. Best of luck to you ladies!!

Lou Ellen's Monogram

My hometown friend Jennifer has a PRECIOUS baby girl, Lou Ellen. I finally got to meet the little one last year over the holidays and see her adorable nursery; periwinkle walls and a black crib with polka dot bedding. Jenn mentioned that she wanted to put a monogram above the crib and I told her I'd painted several murals on kid's rooms and would LOVE to paint Lou's! The only problem being that I'm never in Decatur, we decided to go with a large square canvas which would be portable in case they ever move. Painting is absolutely one of my favorite hobbies, I just never have the time...which, is why it took me forever to complete this project. But, I enjoyed every minute of it and cannot wait to see pictures of it hanging in her nursery.

P.S. I'm REALLY bad at this blogging thing...but will try to be more consistent! :)

Domestic Decor

I have always been a girly girl, wanting anything and everything to be PINK. I mean seriously, it's ridiculous; pink camera, pink mousepad, pink bedding, etc. I nearly cried when Apple came out with a pink ipod the week after purchasing my white one. Well, after realizing it was time to be more "mature" in my decor, I found a chartreuse green bedding set at ZGallerie. It's a solid color, no frilly prints involved, which meant I could always incorporate different colors. Think modern, fresh, happy; sophisticated yet simple. I decided to tie in various shades of green and yellow along with white and a pop of gray. This rug from Anthropologie was the perfect piece to coordinate everything:

I found fabulous pillows, dandelion flowers, patterned storage boxes and laquer frames to accent my room and bathroom. The only thing missing was lighting. After weeks of searching lampshades, my creative mother suggested that I handpaint my monogram on a white lampshade, so fun AND easy! I created the monogram on my computer, printed it out in black, taped it to the inside of the lampshade, turned on the lamp and traced the monogram. Here's how it turned out:

A collage of everything:

Classy Glassy!

I was SO excited when my boss asked me to design a line of wine glasses for Swoozie's! This was my first assignment to design custom products for the company that I love so much. It was amazing to see the designs come to life! After approval from our Buyer and Senior Designer, I sent the manufacturer illustrations of each design and they tranformed them into actual glasses. Here are some photos of the first batch:
